I have a 44 series Briggs engine and this filter fits nice and snug in the housing, very good quality filter and outer foam sleeve covers element perfectly. Would highly recommend.

Air filter for Briggs and Stratton 40 & 44 Series

I Fitted this air filter to my 8 HP Briggs and Stratton Vertical shaft motor with a 1 piece flo-jet carburetor, with minor modifications by drilling 6mm hole on top of filter to fix filer to carburetor. This Filter works better than original filter and I can now adjust carburetor idle screw with filter in place.
