Ring kit

Just what I needed to fix a smokey engine.

VC160 overhaul with ring kit.

As a retired mechanic with over 50 years on mower engines, I wanted to repair an old Victa Super 24 slasher for my sister. After replacing the points and condenser with a module I had lying around, it would only start with the help of an electric drill. In the distant past I would have had victa rebores in stock and fitted a factory rebored cylinder, new piston and rings for $20-30. All I could find was Greenacres mowers ring set. So after cleaning the piston grooves , checking the crank seals and reassembling, I was stoked that it started first pull. The G3 carby needed a clean out, and I also fitted a used decompressor as someone had filled it's location with a spark plug. So all up cost was $40 for the mower and about $60 for parts, including muffler, and wheel bushes, as well as the ring set. I don't count the cost of the electronic module.
